PAL-TV launches in U.S. pet stores

Filed under: News — danacox @ 11:27 am

Peterborough, ON - After beta-testing in a major Canadian pet store chain, Pets and Lifestyle Television (PALTV) has officially launched in the U.S.

PALTV - the in-store TV network designed specifically for pet retail locations - features a variety of professionally produced edutainment and advertising content, which runs on large LCD screens in HD format. It was created and is managed by Redstone Media Group, Inc. (RMG).

“We’ve spent a lot of time and effort making this a top-notch network,” says Tim Hockley, president and CEO of RMG. “PALTV is a fun, dynamic and cost-effective way to build customer loyalty and reach targeted customers where they buy - at the point of purchase, and retailers love the professional look it creates in their stores.”

The U.S. launch focuses on stores in the Michigan area including pet store chains Chow Hound and Soldan’s Feed and Pet Supplies, along with a number of independents throughout America. PALTV’s rollout will continue with the California-based Pet Depot chain in July. Advertisers such as Kong, Natura, Canidae and Hagen as well as many smaller manufacturers have already embraced PALTV.

RMG manages the network from start to finish, including creating original video content and digital signage ads, coordinating advertising sales, and arranging hardware and installation. The networks are controlled remotely from RMG’s head office to ensure screens and content run according to schedule.

The U.S. launch follows the launch of PALTV in Global Pet Foods, a Canadian-based chain with approximately 110 stores. Beta testing in the 350-store Pet Valu chain is currently underway. Redstone Media Group is a full multi-media agency with an eleven-year track record in the pet industry. In addition to publishing Animal Wellness, Equine Wellness and Feline Wellness magazines and managing in-store networks, RMG produces web-ready videos and promotional print materials.

Peterborough, ON — Redstone Media Group (RMG) today announced that its in-store network, Pets and Lifestyle Television (PAL-TV), will launch in the Global Ryan’s chain of stores beginning this November.

“We are really excited to be working with Global Ryan’s,” says Tim Hockley, president of RMG. “They’re on the cutting edge when it comes to retailing pet products so it’s a perfect fit for PAL-TV.”

Global Ryan’s is one of the fastest growing pet store chains in North America, with 106 stores throughout Canada, and aggressive plans for expansion. Global Ryan’s President Jim Walker quickly recognized the benefits PAL-TV would bring to his franchisees.

“We’ve known the people at RMG for years through Animal Wellness Magazine,” says Jim. When they came to us with PAL-TV, I thought it was a great idea to help promote awareness of products and support product sales.”

RMG will initially deploy 32-inch screens in 25 Global Ryan’s stores, with a roll-out to additional stores in 2009.
